Zara – A Name Among The Stars – SciFi Adv/Rom – Episode 15

My apologies, a short episode this week, one chapter, but at least I’m not leaving you on a cliffhanger.

And mwah-hahaha, didn’t that last one catch you. Almost all of you. But Sarah W from Germany had the best guess at what was really going on…

Bigger episode next week, I hope.

Comments, guesses, questions, criticism, praise…any feedback welcome.

I have had to remove the episodes I posted here to fall into line with Amazon’s policies on Kindle Unlimited books.

The full novel is available on Amazon:

UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076WZBFVJ

Germany https://www.amazon.de/dp/B076WZBFVJ

When I post stories on my blog, they will remain for at least a month after completion.

About Mark Henwick

I was born in Africa and left out in the sun too often. An early interest in philosophy and psychology was adequately exorcised by tending bars. And while trying to enroll in a class to read Science Fiction full time, I ended up taking an engineering degree which splendidly qualified me to move into marketing. That in turn spawned a late onset career in creative writing. When not working, I get high by the slightly less conventional means of a small light aircraft. My first book, 'Sleight of Hand' is available on Amazon at http://amzn.to/Sa0D3n

Developing nicely. This chapter confirms my own deductions. No, I will never try to project what I think is happening. Sorry, don’t trust you Mark. I have no doubt you are capable of throwing in a twist if too many people are figuring out where you’re going with this…LOL… I just wish it had been longer.

Gaaah! This chapter just started, and it’s over already? Not fair! Ooh, I am so emotionally invested in this story!

I have read all the chapters and it doesn’t read like a science fiction but more like Jane Eyre. The book needs something more???

Well, the original brief which was voted on was ‘Sci Fi Romance’….

I added the ‘adventure’ part of the description when I found I was spending so much time setting up the characters with AIs and escapes in space that I felt I was drifting away from the romance theme.

I have deliberately tried to insert an anachronistic feel to the interpersonal elements, so actually, I’m delighted to be compared to Jane Eyre. 🙂

But yes, the adventure part will return, there will be lots more Sci Fi, and I will do my best to keep the romance and murder mystery threads fully integrated.

Do please keep reading and feeding back.

I realize I tend to direct people to the ‘second’ episode to start reading, because I re-presented the first two chapters there. Here’s an extract of my preamble at the beginning before the first episode…

“Ha! The time to write has rushed upon me. I said I wanted to write something completely different. The result of feedback was fairly strongly in favor of SciFi Romance. Love in Space. Romance Among the Stars. Whatever.

Kissy-kissy… No, not really. This is a romance, but it’s in an adventure setting. You know I make my heroines suffer, so welcome to Zara, the lass I’m throwing into the deep end.”

Love it, especially the reveal of who she is.
