Julius and Livia – another chapter

I’m at a point in this ‘doodle’ where something is about to happen, and because I’ve just written it as I’ve gone along, I haven’t prepared for what happens. 🙂

Anyway, this continues seamlessly on from https://henwick.wordpress.com/2017/01/15/julius-and-livia-two-more-scenes/

What I’ll have to do is go back and write the other thread, and post that, because the end of this post is approximately where I think the two threads will collide. As I said before, this is just weekend writing exercises, so it will come out when it comes out.

As I’ve also mentioned elsewhere, the audio of Angel Stakes has completed the recording phase, but has to go through editing and checking and various other processes before it’s released, which will hopefully be sometime in February. I’m working on Bian’s Tale and Bite Back 6, but I’m not in a position to start giving estimates yet. I’m still annotating Angel Stakes for the German translation.

Thank you for visiting one of the posts from Change in Regime. This novella is now available on Amazon, and to also make it available on Kindle Unlimited, I have to remove these posts from my blog.

Anyway, here is the cover copy and link:

Like an electric current, arcing from ear to ear through the New York underworld, the word comes; he’s here. The city has a new Master of vampires, House Altau, and the existing, unaffiliated community is now facing a sentence of death.

The storm builds, and one of the leaders of that community, Livia or Julius, must chose to be the lightning conductor to save the rest from destruction. But will that be an acceptable sacrifice to Altau?

And if so, which one of them will it be?

About Mark Henwick

I was born in Africa and left out in the sun too often. An early interest in philosophy and psychology was adequately exorcised by tending bars. And while trying to enroll in a class to read Science Fiction full time, I ended up taking an engineering degree which splendidly qualified me to move into marketing. That in turn spawned a late onset career in creative writing. When not working, I get high by the slightly less conventional means of a small light aircraft. My first book, 'Sleight of Hand' is available on Amazon at http://amzn.to/Sa0D3n

Wow!! She puts all the horror of species sanctioned bigotry into the light of the eventuality. Her story is entirely believable because it is true many times in the past and the present.

Racial violence is exceptable in many parts of the world. How much easier to condone species bigotry in even the most progressive society. There will be slaughters, especially because of the fact that the three unknown species are worldwide. They exist in some of the most racist societies on the planet.

Indeed. Underneath his calm and relentless process, Skylur knows, whatever he does, there will be deaths due to Emergence, and he can only hope to minimize the effects.

  4. Justin says :

Yes! The grim certainty both feel and believe to be inevitable. The small spark of hope that they are wrong. Thanks for little thoughts of those behind-the-scenes.
